Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Material Process Engineer/Material Process Engineer. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Melbourne, FL. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Vehicle Engineering directorate.

Essential Functions:

The selected candidate will:

  • Analyze, research, design and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
  • Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Develop, analyze, and apply material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications.
  • Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.
  • May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Material Process Engineer level (T01) or a Material Process Engineer level (T02).

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Material Process Engineer (T01):

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution or is completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of material process engineering experience.
  • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications for both an Associate Material Process Engineer (T01) & Material Process Engineer (T02):

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).

Pay Range:

  • Associate Material Process Engineer (T01): $53,500 – $80,300
  • Material Process Engineer (T02): $64,600 – $97,000
