Job Description Qualifications:
Join the Boeing Airplane Health Management (AHM) Engineering team as a Senior Airplane Health Management Model Specialist (Level 4 or 5) supporting design, maintenance and support of airplane information data flow (Airplane Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) and Quick Access Recording (QAR) and Continuous Parameter Logging (CPL)), alerts and application features. The team provides Engineering technical leadership to multiple skill areas, including internal and external resources, suppliers and customers, to support over 100 AHM airlines and military organizations, operating thousands of airplanes, with the goals to improve customer operations and optimize airplane lifecycle costs. Insights are deployed to both internal and external facing platforms, which drive operational excellence, maximize airplane availability, and further strengthen product and services quality and safety. This organization directly supports the transformation of BGS towards a digital-first business with industry-leading scalable and replicable engineering capabilities.
Provide technical guidance to product management, UX designers and software developers to maintain and enhance functionality associated with the AHM application
Generate proposals, define requirements and manage statement of work for enhancements to the AHM application and architecture based on a solid understanding of database and business rules
Perform detailed user acceptance testing of all product family changes
Define and manage deployment of refinements to the software systems used to deliver alerts derived from processing of full-flight data sets. Provide architectural guidance to product owners as designs are merged into existing monitoring and alerting offerings
Develop and deliver remote and on-site technical presentations and training to customers
Define and document high-level software architectures needed to support condition-based-maintenance initiatives for current and future military derivative programs
Develop, implement, validate and deliver a condition-based-maintenance solution for the military and commercial vehicles, based on detailed understanding of, central maintenance computer functions, vehicle systems and airplane dynamics
Develop and implement refinements of the software systems use to deliver alerts derived from processing of ACMS and full-flight data sets, and provide architectural guidance to product owners
Provide 2nd tier technical support to customers for supported models of Boeing designed, Douglas designed and Airbus airplanes
Provide support for implementation of complex alerting requirements.
Provide Airplane Health Management Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources, suppliers and customers
Develop and review specifications for new and revised ACMS reports and alerts. This includes researching fault signatures, testing proposed logic and deploying new alerts
Implement new alerting using proprietary development tools and Azure Databricks
Periodically review performance of existing reports and alerts to improve performance and reduce false positive and negative occurrences
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Experience with data analytics process and methods that could be applied to various domains including: Airplane Health Management, Fleet Management, Integrated Logistics or Training
Experience with Boeing airplanes, airplane systems knowledge and a broad engineering skill set
Experience with airline maintenance operations
Experience designing, directing, delegating, and ensuring performance of assigned responsibilities and tasks as a project team leader in support of large scale and complex projects. Including identifying and resolving issues and providing solutions or recommendations to ensure the successful project completion
5+ years of experience leading and/or managing a cross functional team deploying projects and initiatives
3+ years of software development experience
3+ years of experience of Agile and SAFE software development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 5: 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Detailed knowledge of 787 or P-8 or KC-46 airplane systems
Experience with design and operation of the Government Health Management Fault Report Decoder
5+ years of Software Product Management experience
5+ years leading a cross functional engineering team environment
3+ years of software development experience and understanding of Agile and SAFE software development methodologies
General understanding of airplane system dynamics and controls
Experience with airplane health management custom alerting concepts and definition, including triggering, alert setup and alert logic definition
5+ years of experience implementing prognostic monitors for airplane systems
Senior (Level 4)
Bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification.
Senior (Level 5)
Bachelor’s degree typically 14 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 12 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
