DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position is located in and provided guidance by the Office of Children, Youth and Families (OCYF), Bureau of Policy, Programs and Operations (BPPO), Division of Operations (ChildLine), Clearance Verification Unit (CVU). The primary responsibilities of this position include being an assistant to the Administrative Officer, receiving, reviewing, verifying results, and issuing clearance verification for Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR). The Clearance Verification Unit ensures, through the issuance of clearances and verifications, that an individual is either qualified or disqualified under PA Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) and Child Protective Services Regulations, to work with children or be responsible for a child’s welfare.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Assigned work duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In Counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational need. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
  • Travel: As needed
  • Overtime: As needed
  • Shift work: No
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week until training is completed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or

One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Necessary Special Requirements:

accuracy.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
