Recruitment Range: $73,965.00 – $110,948.00
Description of Work:
The IT Infrastructure and Operations Section of the Division of Employment Security (DES), Information Systems Group provides systems support for web application, mainframe applications, databases, Local Area Networks (LANs), desktop and laptop computing systems, and operates a service desk. The primary purpose of this position is to administer and maintain all DES databases, hosted either on premises or in the cloud. This includes installation, configuration, & patching of databases, database design, data modeling, data loading and extraction, stress testing database applications, database monitoring, database performance tuning and optimization, database backup & recovery, change control deliveries, resource management & capacity planning, batch job management, database security, trouble-shooting, and problem resolution. This position will work closely with database developers in designing optimal and efficient solutions that are easier to support, maintain, and administer, with an emphasis on identifying cloud native opportunities.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in programming and applications analysis including the design and maintenance of an integrated database system; or
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in programming and applications analysis including the design and maintenance of an integrated database system; or
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and five years of experience in programming and applications analysis including the design and maintenance of an integrated database system; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
