Job Title: Environmental UIC Manager
The Division of, Oil, Gas and Mining (DOGM) is looking for an energetic and motivated person who enjoys setting their own duties and priorities working with underground injection wells related to the petroleum industry. The DOGM Environmental Manager Underground Injection Control (UIC), provides oversight for the Oil and Gas Program’s Class II wells. This position works with Division staff, management, and industry to assure injection wells in the State of Utah protect values of Underground Sources of Drinking Water (USDW’s) in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) primacy delegation. Position serves as liaison with EPA, industry and the Board of DOGM on UIC topics. Position manages all aspects of the Class II program assuring compliance with Division rules promoting petroleum exploration in an environmentally responsible manner. Position will be responsible for seeking primacy for Class VI from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Preference may be given to applicants with professional certification or training related to the oil and gas industry. Additional preference may also be given to applicants with prior oil and gas regulatory experience.

Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time. Specialized safety precautions or equipment may be used as a part of daily work assignments.

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm*
