Job description: Job Responsibilities

Operates small equipment such as a forklift, roller, tractor with broom, tractor with mower, brush chipper, trailer mounted pipe washer to clean pipe culverts as needed, and CDL vehicles such as a dump truck with and without a snow plow, spreader and brine sprayer. Assists with the placement of traffic control devices to properly set up a maintenance work zone. Serves as a flagger to safely direct and control traffic in maintenance work zones. Performs manual labor to assist with the installation and repair of catch basins and other drainage structures and the placement of driveway/drainage pipes. Tis will include cleaning drainage ditches and repairing shoulders. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Removes litter, debris and dead animals from roadway and rights-of-way. This position requires employee to lift heavy objects. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations, may include being available for extended working hours or 12- hour shifts. Operates small equipment, powered tools, and hand tools to perform a variety of maintenance activities.

**THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN DISTRICT 3 – OCONEE MAINTENANCE**

Minimum and Additional Requirements

There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this classification. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement In the position.

Expected salary: $29120 – 36319 per year
