Summary of Job Duties: The Human Resources Programmer Analyst is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Department of Human Resources by facilitating the collection, analysis, and interpretation of institutional data. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving to resolve hardware and software problems and maintaining the Department of Human Resources website.


Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field with a minimum of three years of experience in a related role.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Management Information Systems;

Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Experience with enterprise relational systems, preferably Workday Finance/Payroll/Human Resources;

Experience in Higher Education.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with a variety of University stakeholders
  • Ensure that WorkDay interfaces and legacy system interactions with proposed Project One Business processes will meet business requirement
  • Help plan, design, develop, and deploy Project One application features, new interfaces, and/or enhancements to existing applications or interfaces
  • Oversight and management of the department’s computers, including the lobby computers for applicants including maintaining the inventory of all computer equipment
  • Trains departmental employees on new computer systems and software products as they are implemented. This includes responding to requests for hardware and software assistance, analyzing issues, troubleshooting, and resolving issues independently
  • Act as a primary liaison between functional business users and the Project One coordinator and the UA system team
  • Analyze and specify hardware and software needs; respond to product requests and recommend courses of action
  • Participate in departmental strategic discussions including workflow management, equipment rollouts, and services provided and needed by the department
  • Create, update and manage information on the department’s website using WordPress and HTML
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to compose and edit correspondence, reports, statistical analysis, and other documents
  • Ability to analyze data, identify problems and inconsistencies and develop an approach to resolve them
  • Ability to self-initiate projects and work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with department staff, including technical matters
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail.
  • Ability to use and assist with instructional technology (SmartBoard, Blackboard, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain confidentially and knowledge of data privacy practices and laws.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of computing system hardware, operating systems, and application software, including principles, configuration, installation, and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of and experience with SQL programming using TOAD or similar database utility software
  • Knowledge of and experience with website design, HTLM, and WordPress
  • Knowledge of and experience with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Docs)
