Responsibilities

Leadership Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the operational priorities for Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering teams that are consistent and aligned with the Company’s strategic plans and tactical priorities.
- Ensure facilities and capacities that meet current and future business needs and maintain full compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Inspire Quality & Manufacturing Engineering employee performance and development by ensuring they understand expectations, receive regular and ongoing feedback, coaching, and training, and are held accountable for meeting or exceeding defined expectations.
- Prepare prescribed departmental plans (budgets, forecasts, ad hoc), while managing and controlling departmental expenses to those plans with consideration for current and future economic circumstances.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Qaulaity Assurance
- Drive the quality performance of the Company’s product offering.
- Develop and maintain procedures to address in the field trouble shooting, testing and analysis of returned goods, and quality improvement opportunities through ownership of the RFC process.
- Develop and maintain feedback and training opportunities for customer service personnel to provide customers with a world class product support experience
- Provide data driven reporting systems as they pertain to customer satisfaction and product regulatory compliance.
- Provide new product engineering services including new materials and processing techniques required to bring the new designs to market.
- Develop and maintain data driven manufacturing processes employed by the Company, including quality expectations and cost containment associated with the product and its production.
- Review new product designs for manufacturability and testability. Design and maintain test procedures to insure valid operations of products once in full production.
Advanced Engineering
- Support the ongoing production effort with product and process optimization, while developing forward looking technologies.
- Seek out new technologies for both product offerings and manufacturing techniques, offering improved processes and systems as required to advance the competitive advantage of the Company.
Environmental & Compliance
- Ensure new and existing products meet and maintain full compliance with regulatory and safety standards as required by the Company’s served markets.
- Direct the maintenance of environmental standards set by the Company while achieving world class regulatory performance.
- Ensure facilities and capacities that support the business maintain full compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field, is licensed to practice engineering by a recognized regulatory agency (PE), or equivalent experience
- 5 to 7 years of engineering experience within manufacturing/product design, 3 within a leadership role.
- A sound knowledge of a broad range of materials and manufacturing technologies used in light engineering.
- Ability to comprehend and translate subjective, conceptual descriptions into objective product models
- Competency in CAD systems both SolidWorks and AutoCAD is a plus
- Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Self directed
- Diligent, detail oriented, patient and thorough
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
